What We Believe:
- We believe the Bible to be the one and only inspired Word of God.
- We believe all men and women are sinners and need to repent and change their lifestyle for salvation.
- We believe in baptism by immersion as a part of the plan of salvation.
- We practice the celebration of the Lord's Supper each Sunday.
- We believe we have the responsibility to share the message of Jesus Christ in our community and throughout the world.
What We Value At Silver Creek
Values, simply put, are the things we hold to be important. We at Silver Creek believe there are six strategic values that ought to be in every believer's life for them to be tracking towards full devotion to God, as evidence of a personal relationship with Christ. Everything in the Christian life should be traced back to these values.
Values of Silver Creek Christian Church
Value 1 - The Bible is our authority for life. We believe the Bible is God's Word and is the final and only authority for truth, for life, for belief, for behavior, and for the Church and its function, strategy, and operation. We don't want to do more than the Bible teaches, nor do we want to do less.
Value 2 - God speaks through His Word, prayer, and worship. We believe God's primary means of communicating with His people is through the study of His Word, through prayer, and through worship and praise.
Value 3 - The home is the best place for discipleship. We believe the Bible teaches that the family/home is the best place for lifelong discipleship and application of biblical truths.
Value 4 - Life happens best in community. We believe the Bible teaches that people and homes function best when they are part of a healthy community of other people and homes.
Value 5 - Every believer is gifted to serve as the church.
We believe the Bible teaches that every believer is gifted by the Holy Spirit to serve as a functioning member of the body of Christ - the Church.
Value 6 - All believers are commanded to use their influence in the world for Christ. We believe the Bible teaches that every believer is commanded to go into the world and use their influence through relational evangelism for Christ.
James 4:17 says: "Anyone, then, who knows the good he
ought to do and doesn't do it, sins."
